Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is my referral fee percentage changing?

No, your referral fee will remain at the current referral agreement you have signed. You can easily access your referral agreement within your HomeLight portal. Please review our help desk article Viewing Your Signed Referral Agreement for further steps.
  • How long do I have until my referrals are switched off?

You will need to agree to these terms on or before January 27, 2025 in order to continue receiving HomeLight referrals.

  • Where can I find a copy of my updated terms after I agree to them?

Once you have reviewed and accepted the updated terms, you will receive a confirmation email along with a copy of the agreement. Additionally, you can always access this information in your HomeLight portal by Viewing Your Signed Referral Agreement.

  • What is TCPA?

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) protects consumers from receiving unwanted phone calls and texts. This compliance allows HomeLight to send you clients who are interested in speaking with a real estate agent.
  • What does it mean to be charged a referral fee on a transaction level basis?

Referral Fees will now be charged upon close at the transaction level, meaning, the referrals are for the property being sold. Any attached transactions to that property would be charged a commission. This will simplify the process for you, especially on transactions with dual representation.
